Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow.

This was the blanket of snow covering my garden on Sunday, it's BEAUTIFUL!  I do love the snow, what I don't love is when it compacts into ice, it was 'sad times' for me when I fell on Friday evening.

I had a lovely walk home from work on Saturday through the snow, the flakes in Town were HUGE and I was trying to catch them.  Most of the flakes landed on my eyelashes, making it look as though I was wearing falses!

When I arrived home, there was a lovely surprise in the form of fairy lights on the apple tree in our back garden.  It makes the garden light up and looks magical.

It's got me in the mood for Christmas!

Jenna, Drinks & A 'B' Movie.

So this weekend was a good un' (minus the work).
One of my besties, Jenna came for a visit on Friday afternoon, it's been ages since we last seen each other! We met after I finished work and headed down to Lloyds bar, this is not my favourite haunt, but the drinks are cheap.  It was great to have a catch up and a laugh, needless to say after 2 bottles of wine we were a little tipsy (drunk), we then decided to head back upstairs to my work and get a couple of tickets to see Machete.

Machete was originally a fake trailer from the Grindhouse series.  It looked amazing and I hoped that they would make it into a film, so when I heard the news that they were, was a very happy bunny.  Here's a little run-down of the film:

'Machete is a 2010 American action film co-written, produced, and directed by Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis.  It is an expansion of a fake trailer that was released together with Rodriguez's and Quentin Tarantino's 2007 Grindhouse. Machete continues the B movie and exploitation style of Grindhouse, including in part the same footage.  Danny Trejo stars in his first lead role as the title character. He also played a character named Machete in the Spy Kids franchise, which Rodriguez also directed. The film also stars Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Don Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal and Lindsay Lohan, who filmed scenes for the film during the autumn of 2009.  Cheech Marin and Jeff Fahey returned to portray their characters from the original trailer.' (Wikipedia 2010).

It was amazing!  We loved every minute of it and would recommend that you go see it, you don't pay attention to the storyline, as there doesn't seem to be one.  But with all the B movie goodness you don't need to.

After the film, we headed back down to Lloyds for ANOTHER bottle of wine (which went down well!) and continued our catch up.  By 10pm we were 'hank marvin' and decided that we would head back to mine for some well deserved scran!  We had a feast! Chips and chicken dippers, you can't beat the kids classic!  The plan was to have some more wine and carry on our evening, but we were just to sleepy (we're getting old!), it was off to bed for us. A very nice end to a very nice day/night.  Hopefully we won't leave it as long to see each other!

Can We Pull It Off.

If you have read the little piece that I have written about myself, then you would already know that I am an HNC Events Management student.  I LOVE my course and hope one day to be working in the Events Industry.  Now as part of my course I have been put into a group of 4 and we must produce an event by next year. We start off with no money, do some fundraising to go towards the main event, get in contact with charities, sponsors, pick a venue etc.
My group I had come up with the idea of holding a charity fashion show and today we visited one of the possible venues, the Ghillie Dhu, which is situated in the west end of town.  It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL and we would love to hold our event there, the 'small' problem with the Ghillie Dhu is that it is going to cost us £500, but they could provide us with all of the things to make our event that extra bit special (eeeeeeeeek!).  I'm sure we could raise the money to hire, but we also want to raise enough for our chosen charity.
We will need to check out a few more venues in the next couple of weeks also.

Fingers crossed everything works out us and that we can organise one of the events of the year!

Sneaky Wee Break.

(The picture you see is the cluttler that the dinning room table in is due to all my paper)

I have taken a 'small' break for typing up my Business Communication Essay, which I might add is a complete and utter snore fest....

And what do I do with this time?  Have myself some brain food perhaps (popcorn)? No, I decide to come on here and type up some meaningless babble to distract myself from the task at hand(!).... I MUST get my priorities straight!

If anyone would like to do this for me, then I would be eternally grateful!

Right, I must get back to the grind! (If anyone reads this post then you must be as bored as me and also be looking for some form of distraction!)

Looks Like Snow.

There could be snow in Edinburgh in the next few days!  And I really do hope so, it makes the city seem magical and mystical, which in turn makes me happy.  I can build snowmen (and ladies), have snowball fights and go sledging, so fingers crossed!

This is just a small post about one if my best friends Fi, who passed away one year today, she was involved in a hit and run.
The worst day in my life was when I received the phonecall to say she had been in an accident and that she wouldn't pull through. I managed to get in contact with our group and we made our way to the hospital to see her.  The rest of that day seems a blur, but I'm so very glad that I got to hold her hand and tell her how much I loved her.  There's not a day goes by where I don't think about her, she was part of my heart and the day she left us a piece of my heart went to.

To Fi, we shall all do the monkey dance together again.
I love you and miss you.

A Busy Few Days.

Which has halted me from 'blogging'.

Since Friday night, I have been working.....  And it has been busy busy busy.  I had no time to spend with friends or Jaimie, as soon as I have finished a shift it's straight to bed, sleep and then I would be back in work 12 hours or less.  The joys of working shifts!  Friday night had to be the worst, it was the opening night of Harry Potter and the amount of mess that the customers left was UNREAL.  Because of this I didn't get home until 3:30am on Saturday, half an hour after I should have finished.

Luckily, I have the next few days off and can now catch up on all the college work that I have missed out on.  Marketing, Business, IT and I can make haste with organising my groups event (which I'm so very excited about!), of which I am the Finance Officer.  I intend to have a lot finished by tomorrow, we shall see if I stick to this....

Getting Ready For Santa.

Oh how I love Christmas!  The time spent with the family, the food and the all round merriment.  But what I love the best is presents, I love buying them and I love receiving them.  This year I shall be spending a small fortune on my family, friends and Jaimie. To me there's nothing better than seeing the look on their faces when they open a gift.  I like to by different gifts, it's all about quality over quantity for me and this year I don't intend to be any different.

For me I only ask for a few things.  Mainly clothes, shoes (I can be quite materialistic), with the odd gadget thrown in.

I thought I would share just a few of things that I would like from Santa this year:

ASOS Pumpkin Suede Pointed Court Shoe £60.00

Vintage Pressed Glass Two Tier Cake Stand Pink £29.50

Adult Apron - Ginger £14.99

ASOS Canvas & Leather Strapping Bag £45.00

Kinect with Kinect Adventures, Dance Central and Kinect Sports (Xbox 360) £184.99

I'm not asking for much.... Am I?

Fruity Sailors And Harry Potter.

I loved last night.
After the meeting, me and some of my fellow employees headed down to the Slug and Lettuce for a few cocktails (£3.95 each, everyday).  The S&L do really tasty 'tails and Yvonne and I had our favourite, the 'Fruity Sailor', but we decided to mix it up a little by also going for the 'Velvet Elvis' AND the 'Rocktail'. They were all just as delish and it's worth popping along to your local S&L to sample them.

So, 11pm came along and we headed back upstairs to purchase our goodies and take our seats.  The excitement was building and then... The lights dimmed and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows pt.1 began(!).
IT WAS AMAZING!  I was gripped from the very beginning all the way through to the end, it even had me shedding a tear or two and made me laugh out loud. This film is a lot darker than the others and dare I say sexy!  Cannot wait for the second instalment, which is out next year.  I'll be taking my parents and other half to see it and anyone else who wants to go!  I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anybody to go and see it.

Too Much To Do. Not Enough Time.

I have so much coursework to do in the run up to Christmas and not enough free time to do it in, which is stressing me out somewhat, and I am normally such a relaxed person! Take tonight for instance, I have a Marketing essay due for tomorrow morning and I have a meeting tonight along with HP7, I won't be home until 3am tomorrow.  Granted, I don't have to go and see HP, but I am.  I am a terrible student...

I also have an assessment that MUST be completed for next Friday and I don't have many free days to spend working on it.

My holidays from work can not come soon enough!

Thursday, 18 November 2010

I am a HUGE Potter fan and have been waiting years for this film to (finally!) be released on Friday 19th November 2010.

Now, as I am a cinema employee I am lucky enough to see it tomorrow night (Thursday 18th Nov) and I can hardly contain myself!  Many moons ago when the 7th book came out, I started reading it and then stopped, and I haven't touched it since.  Sooooooo.... I have no idea what is going to happen in this film!  Totally clueless! In some cases, can be a good thing.

I know I shall enjoy the film and cannot wait to report back on how good it was.

A Little Obsession.

Ok, I am going to admit something. I have an unhealthy obsession with Butterkist Sweet Popcorn.  You would think that working in a cinema that I world be sick of the stuff, and I was.  After the first week I despised it and vowed never to eat it ever again, but one fateful evening I formed a craving for it and have at least one packet a week.  It's an addiction and a habit!  But one I very much doubt I'll get rid of.
You can buy a packet for £1 from ASDA.
Just saying.... ;)

Horrible Days.

I have to venture out in this, and I really don't want to.

My First Post.

Never EVER did I think I would start a blog as I had always said to myself that 'I don't have the time...'.  I have no idea if I will kept this up-to-date, I would like to think so and shall try my very best.  This shall surely be cathartic.

What to expect from my blog? Well, I myself have no idea, we shall just have to wait and see!
