So it's that time of year again where the shops decide to discount on most of their stock, and oh how I love them for it!
I've not managed to buy a great deal, due to the lack of funds. But today Jaimie and myself headed into town after I had collected my new Red or Dead leopard print glasses and I picked up a couple of bargains.
Our first port of call was Cath Kidson and I bought a flour shaker and a passport cover and name/address tag. From there we popped in Fopp where I got the Billie Holiday CD that I had been DYING to purchase and I also got The Very Best Of Burlesque. Superdurg was next, 3 for 2 on their MeMeMe collection and I took full advantage by buying 3 nail polishes, 61. Enchanting 59. Refined 81. Chic (which I am currently sporting!). Last stop was Boots, I have been needing a new compact mirror and found Ferne (by Ferne Cotton) had one for half price, so I was quick to snaffle that!
There is a short cable knit jumper, which was not in any sale, but I liked it so much that I had to have it!
I received presents galore! I woke up at 7:40am and dragged Jaimie, mum & dad out of bed. I popped the kettle on, Christmas CD and took my place in the new room waiting on everyone to join me, once they did it was present giving time! I was so very excited, I always am and it was Jaimie and I's first Christmas together after 3 and a bit years so it was a little special.
I'm not going to bore you with EVERY detail of the day, but it went very well. Mum had a wee cry of joy with one of the presents I bestowed on her, which was a trip for 2 on a fabby motoryatch over Loch Ness (I did good!). Once we had all opened our presents mum and dad got started on dinner and me and Jaimie Played the Xbox, I got the Kinect and some games, which I might add is amazing!
Later on the family arrived dinner and drink was consumed! There was a lot of merriment, sadly I was working on Boxing day, so I trotted off to bed at midnight.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and also have a fabby New Year. I as of yet have no plans as everything has been left to the last minute, also I'm working New Years Day. SAD FACE!

I've not managed to blog for an AGE due to this small thing called Christmas and me working (boo hiss). So at some point today I shall have something typed up and upload some pictures to amuse whoever takes an interest and reads this.

This weekend has been spent with my friends and Jaimie.
After my shift at work I popped along to TGI Fridays to meet my friends for our Christmas night oot. Sadly not everyone could make it as Amy was ill and with Martin's new arrival (puppy Jess) he was busy being a daddy, anyhoos' I got there for 10pm and when I arrived everybody was in a merry mood. I had to catch up, but that was easy as I had very little to eat at work, I had just finished a 10 hour shift and I was sleepy. After my strawberry daiquiri, rusty nail and long island ice tea I started to feel the effects! Now TGI's ain't cheap, but the cocktails are gorgeous and mixologists kept us entertained with flinging bottles about the joint. We stayed there for a couple of hours and then headed along to the new Lloyds bar on George St. the Alexander Graham Bell, I didn't like it there much and only stayed for one drink, by this point Paul was well and truly sloshed so he decided to go home as did Rach. Me, Lisa, Susan, Claire & Kevin headed along to Maccy D's for some well deserved scran and then headed home. I was in my bed for 2am!
I had the WHOLE day off and I wan't going to waste it. It's very rare that I get a day at the weekend off so I try and make sure I do something productive (unless I really fancy a lazy day!). So Jaimie came round to mine around 12ish and we made tracks to go and see my granny, got her some shopping in and didn't leave until 3pm, from grans we took a walk through Arthurs Seat, which is closed on a Sunday and would have been closed anyway's, due to the snow. It was fabby, we felt like rebels walking along the roads. The park was busy and full of people snowboarding, sledging, cycling & jogging, one man who was in full running gear, was running with no shoes on! We threw snowballs, kicked snow at each other and took a lot of pictures.
We thought it be best to go for a hot drink after our big walk and there is nowhere better than the Sheep's Heid, which is situated in Duddingston Village. It's the oldest pub in Scotland and it's not far from my hoose, which makes it my local. The plan was to have some of their home made mulled wine, but sadly for us they had ran out, so I opted for a hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and whipped cream, where's Jaimie had an Irish coffee. They were both delish and well recommended to have if you pop in to the Sheep's Heid. Once we had finished there we made the short journey back to mine where we had some home made lasagne and snuggled up in bed and watched a film, perfect ending to a pretty good day.

Months ago I sent a letter to the Inland Revenue asking if they could see if I was due any tax back from previous jobs. Turns out I am, quite a bit in fact. It's going straight into my savings account or my ISA, but my thinking is that me and the other half could go on holiday next year, I can start my driving lessons and buy a wee banger! Plans are being made!

Check this photo shoot out, loving it.
All the decorations and lights are on our Christmas tree, normally dad gets the tree down from the attic and me and my mum decorate. This year it seems there was a change.... Dad has done EVERYTHING! Our tradition has been broken, not that I'm complaining as there is still a lot of decorating to be done, and it still means cracking on the Christmas CD that we've had for years (dad bought me it in 1992!) and dancing about the house as we bring the Christmas cheer to the Marshall household.
Clare Maguire - Ain't Nobody (Breakage Remix)
I love this song, more so this remix. She has a cracking voice and if you get the chance you should have a listen, her acoustic set for Ain't Nobody is breathtaking.

As I'm writing this I am in the gym on the bike working out!
I have been a member at my college gym since October of this year and I love it, I come 3 times a week after my classes and normally spend an hour or so working out my legs, bum, thighs and arms. I trend do do my stomach crunches when I get home, don't fancy everyone watching me do that!
I've really been noticing the weight dropping off and how my body is toning up! I intend to keep this up and lose a few stone by next summer, slow and steady wins the race.

Whilst watching the X Factor final last night I kept myself amused by painting my nails and playing about with my make up bag.
Glitter is really big this winter in both make up and nail polishes, so I thought that I would incorporate that into my eyes with a sparkly green eye liner which is from The Body Shop along with my black mascara. I used to wear heavy black eye liner and eye shadow when I was younger, but these days I like my make up more subtle.
To keep it fresh during the day I slapped on my L'Oreal foundation, Rimmel highlighter, George (ASDA) eyebrow pencil, N.Y.C mascara and The Body Shop sparkly eye liner. But I applied some dark purple lipstick from George (ASDA) for give the look an evening feel.
With my nails I decided to continue with painting my tips a lovely pink from 17 and the rest of the nail in black from George (ASDA). I really do like the style, but I feel that with these colours I should be listening to Avril Lavigne and I wouldn't put the make up and nails together as they don't suit, but this had me amused as I awaited to find out the Matt The Hat had won.

A very short post about my fabby coffee and cupcake, both from Starbucks, which I got when out with my friend Mike on Friday. Give them a try!
Every year in the month of December, Edinburgh's Princess Street gardens is turned into a place of Christmas cheer, there is music, food, drinks and fairground rides in abundance. Which can mean only one thing.... The German Market and Winter Wonderland have come to town!
I think I have already been there 3 times in the space of a week, but yesterday is when I took some of my hard earned pennies and put them to good use!
Jaimie and I got into town around 1 0'clock and soon met up with our friends Laura and Craig, the meeting point was the Mulled Wine stand and they couldn't have picked a better place! We got a seat, our cup of scrummy mulled wine where we had a catch up and people watched. After about 20mins we thought it best to go and see if we could get some food, so we had a look in the German Market, but it was too busy and decided to nip over to the Winter Wonderland side and grab a hog roast roll. After that I dragged everyone to get some fresh doughnuts with milk chocolate and white chocolate sauce, they were amazing and I wish I had taken a picture. There was so many food stalls to choose from! I have a feeling over the next few weeks I shall be sampling most of what's on offer.
It's not just food that they sell, there are lots of stalls which are selling home made gifts from Germany and a bar... Which we quickly sniffed out after polishing off our food. The beer we had was very nice, but with most of the drinks there you have to put a deposit on your glass which is £3-£4. So for 2 pints it came to £16! I nearly fainted when I handed over the money, luckily you get you deposit back if you bring the glasses back to the bar.
We could have spent all day there and a small fortune (which I did!), but we thought best to leave around four and head back to Laura and Craig's for home made mulled wine and watch the final of the X Factor.
I have every intention on going back next week of an evening and taking a ride on the carousel and Big Wheel. But for now, this post is done and I'm off to watch Christmas films.
