Saturday night was a night of celebration. My friend Claire's BF Kevin had his 30th birthday party at Element bar on Rose St., now it was not his birthday until Wednesday, but it was thought best to have it last weekend. I love Element bar, it's really nice inside, but not cheap therefore I had 3 drinks (I was also working on the Sunday morning and didn't want to go into work with a hangover!).
When me and J arrived it was PACKED, but luckily Claire has reserved a whole section for us, and there was a lot of us! We drank, we chatted, we took pictures and we ate cake which was delish (can't beat a Nintendo cake!).
Sadly J and myself didn't stay late and got the bus at half 11, everyone else went out after Element and had an amazing time. At least this weekend I can maybe stay out a bit later.... Got a good one planned!
(Cardie - F&F, Body - New Look, Skirt - H&M, Heeled loafers - New Look)
Running about in heels is not fun I can tell you, but I do like to make an effort when working in an office (it's been so long since I have!). Although, the rest of the week I shall be sticking to my trusty flats!
I am loving my placement, it's fun and interesting, but there is A LOT of work involved, but seeing the finished event is worth while, especially if people have enjoyed themselves.
It was so very busy when we arrived, full of kiddies running around screaming which was a tad annoying, but once we managed to push our way passed all the children we finally got to see all the different fishes, sharks, stingrays, frogs, gecko's and the seals! We spent a couple of hours there and went round the conveyor belt at least 6 times, topping the last time we were there (which was 5!). We had a great time and will no doubt go back in another 2 years! We also went for a little walk down by the harbor and snapped some pics.
Yesterday when I was in the gym I started watching a film called Funny Face (1957), staring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, the film is about a girl (Hepburn) who works in a bookshop gets spotted by a photographer (Astaire) and turned into a model. Now it was the first time I had seen it and it's bloody good! A lot of singing, dancing and Paris (All the things I love) and the fashion is amazing.
There is a song in the film that makes me want to go back to Paris, it completely romanticises the place and so it should as Paris is a beautiful city with beautiful people. This video will show you what I mean;
If you are ever in need of a good film to watch, watch this.
Of which I have many! I love going into a book shop rummaging through all their coffee table books, I have many ranging from 80's adverts to 1000 Nudes. Now people might find my taste in these books strange, but to me it's normal. Most of the books I own or buy have been publish by Taschen and there is a reason why, their books are amazing, each one is interesting and the pictures fascinate me. What you see in these pictures is only a few of my collection but I've not bought any in a while and I would like my collection to grow and grow!
Last Saturday J and myself had a lovely day in town walking around galleries, had a spot of lunch and did a little bit of SHOPPING (my favorite pastime!). I spent my money in a couple of shops such as H&M, River Island, Past Times, Miss Selfridge and I picked up my top from Topshop during the week and here's a few pictures of what I bought.
(Pillow - Past Times)
(Shirt - Miss Selfridge, Skirt - H&M, Shoe Boots - ASOS)
(Top - Topshop, Skirt - H&M)
(Boots - River Island)
