I LOVE these guys and seen them at T in The Park a couple of years ago.  Now they have a UK tour coming up and London is (at the moment) the only place that I can go and see them, I'm trying to convince friends to come down with me!  It's not the cost of the tickets that would be the problem, it's the getting to London and finding a hotel etc.  I WANT TO SEE DIGITALISM!

Faking It.

Now that summer is here I think it's time to slap on some fake tan, there's nothing nicer than walking around in the sun with a golden glow!  Many years ago I used to use St. Tropez at £30 a bottle(!) I love the stuff and it does give you a beautiful glow, but then I discovered St. Moriz  (available from Semi-Chem) and it's only £2.99 a bottle!  This stuff comes in two forms, a spray and moose.  I prefer the moose as it goes on like a dream, but the spray is just as good and both don't leave streaks (unless you don't apply properly), the smell is not too overpowering either, kind of like biscuits.. Which is no bad thing unless your not a fan of biscuits that is!  This is an instant tan and when you apply can make you look a lot darker than you want to be, but once you have washed it off 8 or so hours later you are left with a stunning colour (it lasts up to a week).  St. Moriz has also now introduced a darker colour for those of you out there who might want a darker looking tan.

I Like Acid (Colours).

On Friday I painted my nails for the night out and this was the result.  I'm loving the bright acidic colours, very summery!

What I Wore/Night Out Rundown.

Sadly I didn't take any pictures when out for Kalista's 28th and Mr Donaldson's leaving do, so all I have is a picture of what I wore.  Which was this: (I also wore a knitted jumper over the top as not to get coooold).

The Evening Rundown

We started at Jekyll & Hyde where cocktails and JD's were consumed, after a few hours there we decided to go dancing and (after lengthy conversations in the street) decided to head to Espionage.... I don't really like that place, never been a fan, lots of guys standing at the sides waiting to grab a girl (which happened to me last night!), it's a very sleazy place and the dance floor is teeny tiny but we all had a spiffing time because the company kept was so good!  I didn't drink much as left the club at half 2 (home by 3am).  Near the end of the night it started to turn into a school disco as 2 sets of people (who I work with) started 'getting it on' , 'pulling' or 'firing in tae' each other.   I'm looking forward to the chats that will be hard about this tomorrow at work!

I Really Should Be.

Studying, but I have been cheeky and stayed at home this afternoon to sit and enjoy the sun.

The past 2(!) days have been glorious in Edinburgh and I do hope it stays like this, you can tell that we're coming into spring with the bees buzzing about and butterfly's chasing each other and being able to walk bare footed in the grass.  It also means we can start to ditch the heavy jackets, hats and scarfs and opt for more summery clothing, this reminds me I must start to pull out all my summer dresses and tops etc!

I also will be purchasing a bike in the next couple of weeks, now if you have read my blog before you will know that I cannot ride a bike..... YET(!) and I intend to be up and cycling by the summer (fingers crossed!), I will also be pulling out my roller skates from the back of the cupboard and giving them and me a good workout.

It's days like these that make me happy and make me daydream a lot more about the coming months and what I will be doing and where I'll be going.  I have a couple of short mini breaks to look forward to and possibly and long week away with Jaimie, plenty of gigs coming up too and now the ballet in April.

I'm hoping to arrange another 'Game's Night' and BBQ which will be held at my house, the last one we had went down a storm and now as we have our back garden back (we didn't have grass for aaaaages) that I can utilise this for things such as gardens parties and inflatable pool days.  I CANNOT WAIT!  All I'm asking is that Mr Sun stays out... Please....

New (Vintage) Camera.

Last Saturday I purchased my vintage camera, I have been wanting one for ages from this little antiques shop that I have visited a couple of times.  The camera is from the 1920's as is the case that came with it and is an Ensign made in London, it's in fabby condition and still works all I need to do is find and buy some spool (also learn how to use it!).  I have been looking online and people are selling it for a lot more than I paid for it!

UV/When I Grow Up Party.

For the people who take time to read my blog, you will already know that I am at college studying HNC Events Management and as part of the course we were put into groups and had to come up with and host an event.  So on Wednesday was our first (of many) and it was a UV Paint Party/When I Grow Up at Cab Vol.  I chose to go as a detective(!) that was one of the many career paths I was intending to take alongside princess, cook, air hostess and housewife....

It was a good night and I was suitably drunk and showing off some of my 'best moves', although not many people turned up and they didn't make enough money for their charity which was the downside of the night.

Hopefully that won't happen at my event!

Afternoon Tea.

This is a very delayed post about a fabulous afternoon tea that me and J had a couple of Saturday's ago in Peckham's.

A while ago I spotted and bought an offer of afternoon tea and Prosecco for 2, £8 (normally £16) from Groupon for Peckham's in Brunsfield.  So J and myself took a trip there a couple of Saturday's ago and enjoyed it!

When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly staff and shown to a booth where we made ourselves comfortable, after 5 minutes the waitress came back over to our table with a glass of Prosecco each and then after another 5 minutes she came back with our 3 tier tray with a beautiful selection of tiny treats!  On the bottom layer there was an assortment of mini sandwiches with the crusts cut off, then on the second layer there was 2 plain toasted scones with some cream and delish jam and on the third and final layer there perched 2 HUGE lemon cupcakes!  It was AMAZING and I would happily pay £16 and we SHALL be going back again.

NYC Blues.

I am in a depressed state today, my friends are off to The Big Apple and I am stuck in dreary Edinburgh.  I had the opportunity to go with them and the funds but what held me back was college and the situation with J's gran.  I know they will have a fantastic time, but I just wish I was there with them.
They better bring me back Lucky Charms! (I have put a request in).
Looks like I'll have to make do with being stuck here, sad times.

Robin Hood And Maid Marion.

On Saturday morning me and J took a little trip down to Nottingham to visit his granny, it was an early start for us as the flight down there was at 9:30am from Edinburgh Airport.  Jaimie awoke at 6 and so did I, which was a pain in the bum as I would have liked to sleep that little bit longer... But no such luck!

The flight down there was a quick one, I think it was just over an hour(?!), I tried my best to sleep throughout the entire journey as I was pooped!  We arrived at East Midlands Airport just after 10am and hopped on the airlink bus to Nottingham town centre and had a quick look around before getting another bus to Jaimie's grans house.  She lives in a small village half an hour outside Nottingham and it's lovley!  Her house I HUGE and in such a lovely setting, sadly his gran is living in a care home as she is not very well, so we had the place to ourselves, it felt strange her not being there but we did a good job at looking after her house.

We took a little visit to her care home to see her and I also got to meet his auntie (who is just lovely!).  We also managed a spot of lunch in the village where J's granny's home is.

Sunday was me and J's day, we didn't go to visit his gran as she likes to have the Sunday to rest.

Our whole day was planned, get up, showered, dressed, breakfast, bus into Nottingham, visted Nottingham Castle, the Jerusalem Pub (oldest in England?!), their museum, lunch, shopping, walk about town and popped into another old pub, last bus home.  That was our day, we had loads of fun and the weather picked up in the afternoon which was great!  In the evening we played cards and dominos and drank Martini's.

Monday we got up early and took another trip to see J's granny, she is an absolute doll and I love her to bits.  When it was time for her lunch we nipped out to a small cafe for some scran and a wee walk around, we popped back to see her for an hour and then we had to make tracks to the airport.

On the airport bus my friend who works at Edinburgh Airport texted me to tell me that our flight was delayed and we would now be departing East Midlands Airport until 19:50pm instead of 17:00pm(!!!).  Needless to say we were pissed, so we hot footed it to the bmi customer sales desk and get our food vouchers... all £9 of them!   It wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been, hanging around an airport, we had a giggle in duty free where I picked up (another) pair of sunglasses.

We finally got home at 20:40pm and I was so sleepy I went straight to my bed!  That was my busy weekend, now back to the grind.
