Review: Collection 2000 Ultimate Fix.

Whilst out shopping with my mum I came across the Collection 2000 Ultimate Fix; Foundation Concealer Powder 3-in-1 SPF 15 (what a very long title!) and thought I would give it a bash.  I picked it up for £4.98 and took it home to test it out!  Now it is a very handy little compact as it comes with a mirror and an application sponge as to make for a easy application.  It's a lovely creamy texture and is easy to apply to the skin, it comes in 3 different shades and will work with most skin colours, it lasts all day and leaves your skin looking fresh and healthy.

(The colour matches my non tanned skin)

What A Weekend.

Well this weekend was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time(!).  I had the Saturday off which I spent with Jaimie and my nearest and dearest, during the day I was down at my local beach (Portobello) where Jaimie and myself met up with Lisa and puppy Mac for some fun.  I then thought it would be a nice idea to invite my friends round for some much needed banter and drinks, so I sent the texts round and they started arriving at mine at 8pm.  The night continued until 3am and it seems that everyone had a fabby time as did I (it's been so long since I've been with my friends), but I was knackered when they left!

Sunday morning I awoke and got ready for work (for a 10 hour shift!), sleepy and in a 'I can't be bothered going to work' attitude, but I got into work for 12 and was amazed to see work completely dead.  And was so very very happy when my boss asked me if I wanted to finish early as work wasn't going to pick up, I jumped at the chance!  So after two and half hours work I was cashed up and sent on my way!  I knew my buds where planning a wee trip away so I joined them on the journey to Cramond beach where walked along in the sand and just sat about enjoying the sun and the company.  I'm hoping next weekend can be just as fun!

Summer Buys.

As some of you may know, I am away for a two week holiday with my fams and Jaimie in September.  Now we are only going down to Norfolk (were my granddad is from), but the weather is always great when we go down (fingers crossed) and I am "needing" some new threads, so I have been on the good ol' t'internet having a look for a key pieces to take down with me.  I already have picked out a swimsuit, but I'm looking into skirts, jackets, hats and a pair of chelsea boots, now I just need to refrain from spending too much money...  So I may or may not buy ALL of the items shown.

D.I.Y. Ombre Hair.

Last night I stripped my hair of the dark brown/black and I am now a nice auburn colour and I had the idea of doing some do it yourself dip dying or ombre hair.  Now thankfully we had a light brown dye in the house that my mum had purchased a few weeks before and I decided as my mum wouldn't be using it that I should commender it and use it for my little hair experiment.  Now instead of going for the blonde tips I thought I would go for a graduated brown on the auburn.  It's really easy to do at home rather than paying lots of money at a hairdressers, not that there's anything wrong with going to one, but I'm all about doing things on the cheap(!).  There are lots and lots of tutorials on YouTube for lots of fantastic ladies who have tried and tested.

All I did was decide how much of my ends that I wanted to darken (or lighten), apply the dye, wrap in tin foil and leave it on for 40 minutes, once the time was up I rinsed and dried.  For the final application I took a small section from the bottom and popped some more of the brown colour on wrapped in some more tin foil and left that for 20 minutes, rinsed off and tada! I have the reverse ombre hair!  I'm thinking of trying out the blonde in the coming months, but for now I'm pretty happy with the results!

Harry Potter Nails.

This weekend was Harry Potter weekend at work and for my first shift of the week (which was on Saturday) I thought it be a nice idea to do a little nail art for the VERY LAST Harry Potter *Sobs*.  It took over an hour on Friday night to paint and dry my nails, but it was worth it as I liked the results!  I had the Gryffindor colours, H & P letters and also the sign for the Deathly Hallows on my finger nails, it was nice when customers noticed and complimented me on my nails, especially when they knew I did them myself!  Sadly I had to take them off yesterday as I was working with food *boo hiss*.

I'm Needing A New.

Swimsuit and I am wanting one that has a vintage/retro look to it.  So I have been trolling through the t'internet and have come across a couple of beauts, now I've found some STUNNING swimsuits but they are priced around the £60 mark and to be honest I don't fancy spending that amount of money on one, I am hoping to keep the price at £30(ish) or less.  Now I don't go swimming that much, but I would like to get back into it, also when I'm down in Norfolk there is a swimming pool and want to take full advantage of that hence me wanting to buy a new one.  There have only been a couple that have caught my eye from Topshop and New Look websites and THANKFULLY they are within my price range, also if I pop into the shop I get my student discount.  I'm considering buying BOTH of the Topshop items... We shall see!

Topshop £30

New Look £21.99

Topshop £26

Dundee/Graduation.

Last week was a big week for Jaimie's little sister Kirsty and her boyfriend Calum as they graduated from Aberty University.  We arrived on the Wednesday and the graduation was on the Thursday, so we had a nice little day visiting Discovery the day before the main event!  It was a lovely day for the graduation, a little bit windy and there was a small shower, but all in all it was sunny and everyone was in high spirits.  The graduation was held in Caird Hall in the centre of town which is a lovely grand building, we managed to get decent seats and sat and clapped every student for about an hour and a half, but whooped and cheered when it was Kirsty's turn to be 'capped'.

Afterwards it was time for the graduates to get their pictures taken and for me and Jaimie to head to the champagne reception.  We stayed outside the hall for about and hour and then it was time to go for the family lunch (which included Calums family) at a mediterranean restaurant and had some of the best food I have had in a long time!  Once lunch was over and done with we popped back to Kirsty and Calum's for some drinks and cake, but by this time I was shattered and went into sleepy mode, luckily we were getting the train home that night as I needed my own bed!

Discovery.

Whilst In Dundee for Kirsty's (Jaimie's little sister) graduation we went to visit Discovery, which is a big ol' ship that went on an expedition Antarctica for research and suchlike.  It was a HORRIBLE day on which we went, heavy rain and thunder so we dried off when walking around the museum section and got drenched (again) when we went out to the ship.  You don't get to walk around every area of Discovery as some of the rooms are used for storage, but it's quite nice inside, you get a feel of what it would have been like to be on the ship back in the day.  When we purchased out tickets we were given a free pass for the year, which we have given to Kirsty and Calum as they live in Dundee and wouldn't really be use to us.  But if you ever find yourself in Dundee, go for a wee visit!
