Tis' The Season To Be Jolly.

Well it's that time of year again, the only time of year that I get really excited about! CHRISTMAS TIME! Edinburgh turns into a winter wonderland (literary!), decorations go up, there is an abundance of fairy lights wrapped around the house/garden, Christmas 24 is on the telly, gallons of mulled wine is being consumed and the Marshall's Christmas album circa 1992 is on repeat. I can't get enough of it!

This year will be a little busier than last year as we have two new additions to the Marshall household, my dad's second cousin (Devan) and his girlfriend (The lovely Vanessa, or TLV for short) are coming over from Australia. They will be staying with us from the 23rd December until the 3rd January, we were hoping for a quiet Christmas this year... However it will be nice to see Devan, the last time that we met was Christmas 95' when we were both 9 and me and the parentals were travelling.

Now I have managed to purchased and (nearly) wrap all the presents, I say this however Jaimie should take most of the credit as he did most (all!) of the wrapping... I think I have done well this year, this may be the 3rd year in a row that I make my mother cry with joy from a gift that she has received from me and Jaimie. I have high hopes that everyone will love their gifts, I don't care if I am bigging myself up! (I know they are good!).

This weekend is set to be a busy one as my weekend begins on Thursday with the staff Christmas night out, drinks in the office, dinner and then more drinks. I do not intend to get drunk as I will be in work on the Friday and I will be having round two on Friday evening when I meet up with my friend Jenna, who I haven't seen for two years(!). Saturday is the day that 'The Gang' meet up for some Christmas Market shenanigans, we will be dressing up in our finest Christmas jumpers and enjoy what Edinburgh has to offer at this time of year, we also have a Secret Santa lucky dip! Sunday, D&V arrive and we have been invited to a family friends house for some drinks and nibbles... My liver will not be thanking me, the last week in December and the first week in January will be alcohol filled!

I hope everybody has a fab Christmas and and even better New Year!

Pictures Of The Weekend.

This weekend was a quiet one. I spent it walking around Dobbies Garden Centre,  dip dying my hair (again), wrapping presents and drinking mulled wine. Next weekend shall be more fun filled as I am meeting friends and enjoying the Christmas festivities!

What I Wore.

Today me and Jaimie went for a walk from Portobello to Musselburgh and this is what I wore.

Leggings, oversized army shirt, creepers, jacket, bobble beanie and bag.

Twas a lovely day for a walk, not too chilly and only a smattering of rain. I managed to pick up my winter cider from Lidl, which made me super happy!

I am in the process of lightening my hair, but we shall find out tomorrow if it has worked. I have only stripped it today, tomorrow is D day!

Anyway here are some pictures!

I'm In With The In Crowd.

I gave in and succumbed, I am now the proud owner of UGG boots.

I have always had a pair of Fuggs, fake uggs if you will. You know, the ones from high street which don't keep your feet warm and if there is even the SLIGHTEST bit of water make you slip and slide about the like you are competing in the ice skating section of the winter Olympics!

This was not a decision taken lightly as they cost A LOT and I would see these as an investment rather than a fashion statement. For I shall (and will try not to) wear these with 'cottons' and a Jack Wills jumper, I AM NOT A STUDENT or a teenager.

I knew the pair that I wanted, my eyes had been set on a pair of 'Baileys' in chestnut with triple buttons, I searched the internet for a good deal, some where £240 and the pair that I found were £219 from http://www.spartoo.co.uk, free delivery which is a bonus but I had to wait 6 days before I received the beauties. Now I am not a patient person so 6 days on a pair of boots I just paid £219 for was not the greatest, but nonetheless they arrived and I am happy.

These boots are for the winter, I have my winter boot selection which consist of biker boots, ankle boots, Hunter wellies, snow boots and now my UGG's. I also have my winter wardrobe and coats, but I shall leave that for another post.

Now I will leave you with a couple of pictures of my 'Neeeeeew shooooooes!'

Bonfire Night.

Last night me and my buds held our annual bonfire night, which is held down Portobello beach. The beach is normally teaming with big groups of people and an abundance of bonfires, but this year was different, this year was quiet. I think that most people were off having Halloween parties rather than setting off fireworks.

It was the perfect night for it, crisp and clear making it great for both the bonfire and the fireworks. We also had sparklers, you have to have sparklers, it's not the same without them(!). We started off by building the fire and then the guys set off the fireworks, we have quite a few which kept us on the beach for about 6 hours! Thankfully there were fold out chairs and rugs to sit on and peopled made/brought food with them, we even had hot veggie soup with garlic bread, which was much needed! Not forgetting the GIANT marshmallows!
It was a thoroughly enjoyable night with my nearest and dearest and can't wait to do it again next year!

Round Up.

Herrow chaps and chapettes!

Not much has been happening since I last checked in with you, still working away and spending money on clothes and shoes.

I turned the ripe old age of 26, as you get older you realise how much birthdays are not a bit deal. BUT I did however have an awesome birthday night with my best buds! The theme was Man v Food, everybody was invited to make big/lots of food and bring drinks. I went for the giant cheeseburger and with Jaimie's help it was AMAZING.
It was a very drunken night (even though I was horrifically ill, I had viral infection), it wss filled with party games, face paints and people popped on all the trinkets inside their party bags. I loved it and I love my friends.

I also happened to go on a long weekend away to the beautiful city of Budapest. I went with 4 of my buddies and we spent 4 days and 3 nights exploring, taking in the sights and sounds with a pub crawl thrown in for good measure. Budapest is stunning and the weather was quite good, surprisingly warm in October! There is so much history and it was great to learn about it.
I will definitely be going back and this time taking Jaimie as he is DESPERATE to go.

Other things in Kathryn news is that I have a new phone which I love, hiya Galaxy SIII! Burst my lip and hurt my teeth on a drunken night out. Went to the RBS Museum Lates with Lisa and her work friends, again another drunken night out. Took mum to Chamber Street Museum to see the Catherine The Great exhibition, which is a must (it has since finished). Dinner and a meeting with Jaimie's family for his dad's 60. Spent more money on clothes and shoes. Treated mum, dad and Jaimie to lunch. Gotten over a viral infection AND cut my fringe in... again.

I was aiming to make the blogging a bit more regular, but I just didn't find the time. I have been awfy busy working, going out or just being plain lazy.

Here are a few pictures for your lovely little peepers to enjoy, some of the things I have been up to and some sweet treats. I will be writing up another blog post this week, full of the new clothes and shoes that I have been buying, which since July is A LOT.

Pictures Of The Weekend.

Most of these pictures will consist of Madonna and her MDNA concert, I was on Saturday night. Tickets were free due to a 'glitch' on Ticketmasters website and I took my Mawmee, we had a grand of day/night.

There is also a few pictures of baked goods, which is always a good thing in my eyes!
